With nearly three decades in practice, board-certified gastroenterologist Darrell Lee, MD is a trusted physician on the island of Oahu. He cares for patients at Hawaii Gastroenterology Specialists in Honolulu and Aiea, Hawaii.
Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Nebraska. He stayed with the same institution to complete his residency at the school’s training facility, St. Joseph Hospital. Dr. Lee went through additional fellowship training in gastroenterology through the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
To ensure he’s always offering the latest treatments for his patients, Dr. Lee maintains his board certifications. He’s board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine, specializing in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. Dr. Lee also has advanced training in colonoscopy, liver biopsy, endoscopy, and other various gastroenterology procedures.
Voted a top doctor in 2016 by Honolulu Magazine, Dr. Lee is known for helping patients decide on the best possible treatment options for serious complications, including colon cancer, advanced liver disease, and pancreatitis. He was one of the co-founders of Pacific Endoscopy Center, which has now blossomed into Hawaii's largest group of gastrointestinal centers, including Hawaii Gastroenterology Specialists.
